Nginx

Nginx is a high-performance HTTP server with additional functionalities. It is an excellent choice for running on OpenWRT due to its performance and memory management capabilities.

Installation

opkg update
opkg install php5-fastcgi nginx

Note: nginx is not precompiled in the Barrier Breaker release. Please read the notes.

Solution: Either try force-depends on the downloaded package from Attitude Adjustment, or recompile it for your specific device.

http://downloads.openwrt.org/attitude_adjustment/12.09-rc1/ ARCH /generic/packages/nginx_1.2.2-1_ARCH.ipk

Of course, there may be port conflicts if you installed LuCI before or after. The LuCI package installs uhttpd, which also wants to claim port 80. Therefore, configuring and port forwarding may be necessary. There are ways to run LuCI with a different HTTP daemon, but that is not covered here. For a quick fix, simply change the uhttpd port to something else. The configuration file resides

/etc/config/uhttpd

Configuration Files

The configuration files reside in the /etc/ folder, while nginx's own files are located in their own folder /etc/nginx/.
