Amazon has unveiled two new AI devices under the Bee brand — the updated Bee Frontier bracelet and the compact Bee Eclipse voice recorder that attaches to a smartphone. This is the first update to the lineup since Amazon acquired the startup Bee in July 2025.
Bee Frontier: pricier but smarter
Bee Frontier is a new generation of wearable device that can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. As before, it runs for up to seven days without recharging, but it now costs $75 instead of the predecessor's $50. The device went on sale on October 15.
The main hardware improvement is two microphones with better noise cancellation. According to Amazon, the gadget is capable of "noticing what matters and ignoring what doesn't" even in a noisy restaurant or open-plan office.
Bee Eclipse: a voice recorder the size of a bank card
The second new product is the Bee Eclipse at $100. It has the same features as other Bee devices, but it isn't worn on the body: the thin, credit-card-sized gadget attaches magnetically to the back of a smartphone. Amazon promises that the Eclipse will go on sale soon.
How Bee devices work
Unlike Echo speakers, which respond only to a wake word, powered-on Bee devices record continuously. The AI transcribes and analyzes conversations, summarizes them, lets you review "memories" from recent days, and detects recurring topics to suggest personal goals and actions.
A Bee Pro subscription at $12 per month unlocks unlimited conversation summaries and daily "memories," as well as integration with the Amazon store, the Alexa+ assistant, and third-party apps. For example, if a user mentions needing to buy dish soap, that product may appear in recommendations on the Amazon homepage.
Privacy and competition
Amazon assures that the devices are designed so that "no one, including Amazon, has access to your data": audio is not stored, and transcripts and summaries can be deleted at any time. An LED indicator signals recording. However, constant listening traditionally raises privacy concerns — just like Meta's smart glasses with a camera.
Bee will compete with other AI gadgets: Meta's glasses and Muse Charm pendant, the Plaud card notetaker, and the Friend AI necklace. The lineup update is part of the pre-holiday wave of AI hardware: Amazon also replaced its budget Fire tablets with new Alexa Tablets.
